I'll guide you through every step, from our first conversation to your finished portraits.
1. Phone Consultation
We’ll talk about your child, what you love about Heirloom Portraits, clothing options, and the artwork you’d like to create. I’ll answer your questions, explain the investment, and help you choose a session date.
2. Session
When you arrive, we’ll get your child dressed and capture a variety of expressions, from thoughtful and curious to joyful smiles. After the session, your child gets to choose a prize while I show you frame samples and help you decide how you’d like to display your portraits.
3. Selection
At your selection appointment, we’ll review your portraits together and choose your favorites. I’ll help you decide on frames, composites, or an album, and finalize your order. Then I’ll take care of retouching, production, and delivery so your finished artwork is ready to enjoy.

Still have a question? Get in touchWhat is the appropriate age for these portraits?
This session is for children from the time they can sit up, while they still have baby teeth, and into early adolescence. I especially love it as a 1-year-old milestone portrait.
Can I use my own clothing?
Of course! If you have clothing you love for this style, we use that. If not, I have a client closet.
Do you offer a client closet?
I do! I have simple white smocked dresses from size 18 months to 5T for girls. For boys, I have shirts with navy piping around the Peter Pan collar in sizes from 12 months to 4T or white oxford shirts from size 12 months to 3T.
How long is the session?
These sessions are usually about 20 minutes. Of course, all children are different and we want to bring out the best in them. How do we make it happen? A little bit of peek-a-boo, a touch of silliness, and a generous sprinkling of magic! It lasts as long as your children can handle and until we get what we need.
