How to Decide if You Want a Full-Service Photographer

Choosing your DC photographer is tough. There are so many options, it can feel like everyone with a camera is considered a photographer. A friend of mine asked for family photographer recommendations in a Facebook group and received over a hundred comments on her post. How is she supposed to choose among one hundred DC family photographers?

How do you know which one is right for you?

Something you might want to consider is looking for a full-service photographer. This photography process is a little different from what you might have experienced in the past.

I’d love to share more about full-service photography and how to decide if it’s right for you.

What is Full-Service Photography?

Full-service photography is the next level of the photography experience. It’s far more than using a nice camera to snap your picture. The full-service photography is a process that leads clients from beginning to end with a seamless experience.

The Lisa Maco Photography full-service experience includes a 5-part process:

1. Quick Phone Call – This is our opportunity to simply have a conversation. I love getting to know my clients and answering any questions you have about the process. We’ll chat about your family and any ideas you have for displaying your images.

2. Design Consultation – Once you’re on the schedule, I’ll come to your home so we can talk more about each member of your family, what you hope to capture in your session, and how you want to display your finished images in your home. We’ll brainstorm about session styles and wardrobe and I’ll leave you with a Portrait Guide that shows my finished products and gives you tips on how to prepare for your session to make the day go as smoothly as possible.

3. Session Day Experience – When the day of your portrait session arrives, you and your family can enjoy a stress-free experience. I’ll ensure everyone is comfortable and ready before we start photographing. After the session, the kids get to choose a prize adn everyone leave with a special treat.

4. Selection Appointment – Bring your calendar to the session so we can choose a date for you to see your photos. Instead of clicking through an online gallery, I’ll show you all your images and some suggestions for your display products. We’ll work together to finalize your selections with the images you most love. I take care of all the production for you using a professional lab that hand-crafts archival-quality products that last generations. All you have left to do is let me deliver them to you.

5. Delivery – As soon as I have your completed order, I’ll be in touch to set up delivery. And I can handle installation for you as well, if you want.

Full-Service Photography Saves Time and Money

As you can see, a lot goes into each portrait session. Between each step of a full-service session are hours of time spent behind the scenes preparing the studio for the shoot, professional editing, and so much more. It all goes into creating a white glove experience and custom portrait artwork you’ll treasure forever. All while saving you precious time.

The truth is that full-service photography saves you time and money. How? This type of service takes the work of a photoshoot off your plate. Instead of figuring out the details of the session on your own, I’ll be there to guide you in choosing what to wear and preparing for your session. Before you know it, your portraits will be on display in your home without having to spend hours figuring how where and how to make it happen.
